Greece, Greek Cypriot Administration, Israel Expand Partnership

(MENAFN) On Monday, Greece, the Greek Cypriot Administration, and Israel agreed to intensify their collaboration in military and security matters.

During a joint press briefing alongside Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized: “We agreed today to deepen our cooperation in security and defense.”

He argued that the trilateral alliance is not directed against any specific nation in the region, adding: “Look, we’re not seeking confrontation with anyone. On the contrary, we seek stability, prosperity, and peace.” Netanyahu further remarked, “We hope that our coalition won’t be tested.”

Mitsotakis told reporters: “This is the 10th trilateral meeting of our countries, and this shows the depth of our cooperation that has been tested by time and has proven resilient.”

He pointed to the expanding military ties among the three parties, most evident in the sharp rise of Israeli arms exports to Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration, while noting that technological collaboration should also be enhanced.

"Our cooperation has yielded tangible results and will continue to do so in the future, we look forward to strengthening the trilateral partnership,” Mitsotakis concluded.
