Fidan Heads to Bulgaria for High-Level Talks on NATO Coordination
He was already present in the Bulgarian capital ahead of the main agenda on Wednesday, taking part in several scheduled events and representing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) summit being hosted in Sofia.
On the sidelines of the gathering, he also held a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis earlier on Wednesday, as stated by reports.
During his meetings in Sofia, discussions are expected to focus on expanding collaboration in key areas such as energy, transport systems, regional connectivity, and defense industry partnerships, according to the same reports.
He is also anticipated to underline the importance of maintaining close coordination between Türkiye and Bulgaria—both NATO members and neighboring states—in order to support long-term stability and economic development across the Balkans.
